In Memory of Bonnie "Nana" McCollum
My grandmother, Bonnie "Nana" McCollum, lived a life of quiet strength and steady love.
She showed up every single day — not for recognition, but because it was simply who she was.
Every morning, she walked.
Rain or shine, cold or heat, she laced up her shoes and met the day with calm consistency.
I understand now that those walks were more than a habit. They were a promise to herself — to keep moving, one step at a time.
She believed in me in a quiet, steady way. Not loudly. Not dramatically. Just consistently.
When I struggled to see my own direction, she saw possibility. When I doubted myself, she didn't.
She also had a playful side — a love of clowns, laughter that caught you off guard, joy woven into everything she did. She knew life could be heavy and hopeful at the same time, and she held space for both.
Roller Coaster Recovery carries that same spirit: showing up, believing in each other, and moving forward one day at a time.
This page is for her — for the mornings she showed up consistently, and for the way she believed in her family and friends, day in and day out.
I love you, Nana. Thank you.
